2. Layer with cushions slightly smaller in size and texture.

1. Garden
Make sure your lawn is green and tidy, and get rid of any weeds.  Water blast paved surfaces and fences. Trim the hedges and edges. Update with some new plants if necessary. Time it so your garden is looking its best for your campaign.

2. Create a welcoming entrance
A lovely first impression is essential to win over buyers and your front door is the first thing they will see when they visit your home.  Keep the area clean and tidy.  Paint the door if necessary.  Add some plants.

4. Declutter
Simplifying the space is one of the best ways to improve a buyer’s experience of your home.  You could consider hiring a storage unit if required.

6. Paint
It’s amazing what fresh paint can do modernise and update your home. Stick to neutral colours.

If you’re over the usual Christmas decorations and want to try a new approach this year – you’re in luck!  I’ve compiled an expert list of how you can modernise your Christmas styling without it looking like Santa exploded in your living room… read on!

1. Green And Red?  No Thanks!
We’re living in New Zealand – which means Christmas is full of sun, beach and drinks by the pool.  So the idea
of Santa riding on his reindeers through snow doesn’t really apply for us Kiwis.

To match this unique Kiwi Christmas, you need an appropriate colour scheme.  Yellow and teal or green and blue are wonderful schemes for a fresh and summery Christmas theme.

Neutrals like soft pink, white and beige give a lovely feminine aesthetic.  Decorate your Christmas tree with ornaments in your chosen colours and then style the rest of your home from there.

Get Your Home Ready for Summer!

19/10/2018

Summer is just around the corner!  Here are my top 10 tips to get your home ready.

1.  Clean out your wardrobe
Now that the warmer weather is here, it’s time to store all those winter clothes and break out the t-shirts, shorts and maxi dresses!  Put your bulky jumpers and coats into storage until winter strikes again. This is also a great time to assess what you really wear and what you don’t.  Be honest.  If you haven’t worn something in months, donate it.

2.  Switch to lighter bedding
Similar to your clothing, summer is also the time to switch to lighter bedding. Ditch the flannel sheets and thick duvets and opt for breezier cotton.  You can even totally update the look of your bedroom by changing decorative cushions and duvet covers.

3.  Declutter
Go through each room in your home and get rid of anything you don’t use or like anymore.  Donate things in good condition and recycle the rest.

4.  Clear out expired items from the fridge and the pantry
Take a look in your fridge and pantry and get rid of all those expired items.  Once you have all of the expired offenders out of the way, re-organise both your fridge and your pantry, grouping like items together.
